Enfield Recreation Summer Camp

The summer of 2011, NELA Fellows participated in a full-time community internship with local community organizations. I was fortunate to work with Enfield Parks and Recreation Summer Camp located in Inborden Elementary School cafeteria. This outreach was in conjunction with coursework planned around Rural School and Community Trust. During my internship I wrote and received grant funding for "Get Fit! Be Active! " in the amount of $2300.00. This grant was used to purchase excercise equipment and games for students.
I also worked closely with Doug Miller and other Cohort members to develop a grant for the Roanoke Rapids boy's and Girl's Club. This grant was also funded to purchase computer equipment.
